More information to come for the 2020-2021 Season.
Having a 2020-21 season is contingent on how the school district and state of Iowa continue to advise clubs like ours on how to proceed in a safe and responsible way. One of the key factors is if Ankeny schools will allow outside groups to rent the gyms for practices this Winter. While we are fortunate to have a partnership with Kingdom Hoops, the gyms they provide us two nights a week is not enough space for our entire Club to practice every week. For that reason at this time we cannot guarantee every registration will be honored with a spot in our Club in 2020-21. We may have to significantly alter the size of our Club if Ankeny schools are not available for us to rent this season. We hope to know this by the time tryouts occur and will communicate any changes to our parents/players at that time.
With so many questions surrounding the upcoming season, the ACBC Board will be holding a Zoom webinar later in July to address any questions parents may have about the season. More details will be coming regarding a date and time for this event.
Please feel free to reach out to me directly or any other member of the Board with questions.

ACBC Classic:
This is the annual tournament sponsored by our club. We will ask that parents volunteer at any given time if your child’s team is involved in the tournament. This could be helping take money at the door or at the concession stand.
Coaches and Volunteers:
Our club relies solely on volunteers, so we ask that if you are willing to coach, assistant coach or volunteer in any way please inform the grade level coordinator.
Skill Directors:
This season Skill Directors will be Vance Mosely and Curtis Stinson. They have a lot of basketball knowledge to bring to our players and coaches.

Message from Coach Fontana: (see attached for Evaluation Sheet)
ACBC Players, Coaches and Parents,
Attached is the evaluation form that we will use for the ACBC tryouts on Sunday, August 18th. The form will be used for grades 4-8. We feel this evaluation tool covers skills that are the most important in a tryout and are to be emphasized throughout the season. We appreciate your interest and involvement in the Centennial Basketball Program.
Go Jags!
Bob Fontana
