Structure of Girls Program for 2020-21 Season

 

Player Registration:

Registration opens on July 15th:

  1. $10 due at time of registration and prior to tryouts.  
  2. Half entry fee is due on 9/1/20. **Don't pay until after tryouts and teams are announced.
  3. Full entry fee is due on 10/1/20.

 

Try-outs & Next Steps:

  1. Most players will be placed on a team after tryouts; however we may be somewhat limited on how many teams that we can have due to gym space.  If the city of Ankeny does not let us rent gym space (due to COVID concerns), we will be forced to only have 2 teams per grade level per gender.
  2. After try-outs on Sunday, August 23rd teams will be formed and communication will be prepared.
  3. You will receive an email the week following tryouts with your players’ team placement.  At that time you will need to pay the entry fee by end of day September 1st.

 

Breakdown of teams based on grade level:

We anticipate 1 to 2 teams per grade level with 8-10 players per team.  However, adjustments will be made based on tryout numbers.  If needed, a third team can be added to keep numbers of teams ideal.

2nd & 3rd Grade: 8-10 players per team – Teams will be divided equally based on skill.

4th Grade: 8-10 players per team  – Teams will be divided based on skill level, with an “A” team, “B” team and “C” team if applicable

5th Grade: 8-10 players per team  – Teams will be divided based on skill level, with an “A” team, “B” team and “C” team if applicable

6th Grade: 8-10 players per team – Teams will be divided based on skill level, with an “A” team, “B” team and “C” team if applicable

7th Grade: 8-10 kids per team – Teams will be divided based on skill level, with an “A” team, and “B” team and "C" team if applicable

8th Grade: 8-10 kids per team – Teams will be divided based on skill level, with an “A” team, and “B” team and "C" team if applicable
